THEORETICAL SOURCES OF MODERNIZATION OF THE SCHOLASTIC PARADIGM IN THE ACADEMICAL COURSES OF THE POLOTSK NEOSCHOLASTICS

Abstract
The article is devoted to identifying the specificity of the theoretical sources of Polotsk Neo-Scholasticism and determining their influence on the formation of the characteristic features of this philosophical tradition, interpreted as a project of modernization of the Scholastic tradition. The main material for analysis consists of the academic philosophical courses of G. Angiolini and V. Buczyński, professors at the Polotsk Jesuit Academy, which represent the official position of the intellectual community of the Polotsk Jesuit Academy. The research methodology included content analysis and the comparative-historical method for the reconstruction and systematization of theoretical sources. The study was conducted within the framework of systemic and dialectical approaches. As a result, three vectors of modernization of the Scholastic tradition in the work of the Polotsk authors were identified: structural-methodological, scientific-apologetic, and ideological. These vectors made it possible to renovate the Scholastic tradition in accordance with the intellectual challenges of the era while preserving its fundamental principle of the harmony of faith and reason.
