The THE PHENOMENON OF LIMINALITY AND NARRATIVE COMMUNICATION

Abstract
The article examines the relationship between the concepts of liminality and narrative, including the nar-rower concept of Self-narrative in the context of liminal transitions. Liminality is defined as a transfer for the formation of new meanings and structures. The aim of liminality is to ensure social mobility through the reconstruction of meanings, which is possible through a deep connection between liminality and narrative. The specifics of the modern narrative and its place in social transformations are determined. The purpose of the study is to reconstruct the relationship between the concepts of liminality and narrative, and to identify the mechanisms of meaning formation as liminal. Attention is paid to the peculiarities of the Self-narrative as a tool for understanding transitional or liminal identity. The functions of narrative dynamics realized in the context of liminal transformations of the subject are revealed. The influence of liminal transformations and narrative communication is determined to be mutual.
