Conceptual approaches to the study of collective memory

Abstract
The article considers various concepts in the study of the phenomenon of collective memory. The interdisciplinary nature of the study of the phenomenon of collective memory is reflected, which demonstrates the value of memories of the significant past in the present. The importance of recording and archiving historical facts and events for the preservation of collective memory and its functioning is noted. The diversity of approaches to the analysis of the phenomenon of collective memory made it possible to emphasize its key characteristics. The approaches demonstrating collective memory based on the level at which it is preserved (micro-, meso- and mac-rolevels) are analyzed and attention is drawn to their mutual influence. Particularly significant factors contributing to the study of collective memory are highlighted, including the mechanisms of its transmission, symbols, places of memory and commemorative practices. In conclusion, a conclusion is made about the existence of many factors influencing the preservation of collective memory. The need to use an integrated approach to the analysis of the phenomenon of collective memory is substantiated.
