WORDS-STIMULI FOR THE FORMATION OF NICKNAMES-CHARACTERISTICS (FORMATION OF THE NICKNAME FIELD)

Abstract

The article analyzes nicknames-characteristics, the basis for the emergence of which were the features of the general appearance – posture, hair color, facial contours. The associators of nicknames are determined depending on their motivator. The essence of the association and its role in the content of the nickname are noted. A nickname is formed as a result of an association that arises in the nominatorʼs mind in response to a visual image. Associative words representing a certain feature of the nomineeʼs appearance (long hair, skinny, plump, bald, big eyes, long nose, protruding ears, etc.) form a nickname field. The nickname field includes all the names that arose from the stimulus word, in which the nickname motivator is verbalized.
