THE STRATEGY OF CONTROLLING COMPREHENSION IN SCIENTIFIC DIALOGUE

Abstract
The article is about identifying the features of the implementation of the strategy of controlling comprehension as an auxiliary communicative strategy in scientific dialogue, the latter being treated as a special kind of scientific discourse characterized by a spontaneous and expressive character. The repertoire of tactics representing the strategy of controlling comprehension as well as the variants of its implementation have been established (depending on the type of communicant – either the sender of the message or its recipient/ interpreter). The conclusion about the importance of the strategy of controlling comprehension in regulating dialogical processes in scientific discussion as well as about its exclusively cooperative nature, small set of tactics, and an approximately equal role of both the sender and receiver of the information has been made.
