Abstract

The article presents the results of an assessment of the technical preparedness level of judo athletes in the second-year training groups (UTG-2) at sports schools in the Republic of Belarus. The findings indicate a predominance of a low level in the integral indicator of technical preparedness. The greatest difficulties among young athletes are observed in mastering the Nage-waza (throwing techniques) and Ne-waza (ground-work techniques) sections. Data analysis also revealed a high degree of heterogeneity in preparedness levels within the training groups. Relatively better results were observed in basic techniques; however, a significant number of boys in this area also demonstrated a low level. The results indicate that the existing system of technical training does not ensure adequate mastery of the fundamental elements of judo technique, particularly in the Nage-waza and Ne-waza sections. This underscores the need to revise the methodological approaches to the organization of the training process for judo athletes.
