Main Article Content
Abstract
The rituals and customs of the summer cycle holidays (Trinity, Green Yuletide, Apple Savior, Honey Savior, Ilya), which are presented in the oral womenʼs stories of Brest region, are considered. The artistic means and techniques characteristic of folklore used by narrators are determined. The important components of the studied commemorative practices, memoirs and fabulata are revealed. A rich imaginative system is shown in which various images are differentiated by the method of creation or type of association, by the subject of the image. Through the text and context (horizontal and vertical), a pronounced individual perception of the inform-ants is revealed, as well as creativity in their interpretation of fragments of the summer cycle holidays, which indicates their ability to think figuratively, analytically, follow the traditional and perceive the realities of modernity.
