Abstract

Statistical analysis of foreign trade plays an important role in the development of foreign economic activity of the region, since it allows to promptly identify existing problems in this area and determine ways to solve them. The article analyzes the main indicators of foreign trade in goods and services of the Brest region, the geographical and commodity structure of foreign trade, calculates export, import and foreign trade quotas for 2015–2023 and concludes that the region's economy is significantly open. Problems in foreign trade of the Brest region are identified and ways to solve them are proposed, including the development of new foreign markets and commodity diversification of exports, improvement of export infrastructure, implementation of investment projects for modernization and creation of new export-oriented production at existing enterprises, application of the principle of work «on order», organization of advertising and information support for exports.
