EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING A TOURIST ROUTE TO FILM LOCATIONS IN BELARUS

Abstract

Movie-induced tourism represents a promising direction within cultural tourism, capable of transforming audience interest into actual tourist flows and generating a multiplier economic effect for destinations. The international experience of New Zealand, Iceland, and Tunisia convincingly demonstrates the high potential of film locations as catalysts for regional development. For the Republic of Belarus, which possesses a rich cinematographic heritage, engaging film locations in the tourism sector is a pressing objective. The purpose of this study is the theoretical substantiation and development of a cinematic tour to filming locations in Belarus. The research methodology included an analysis of scientific literature on film tourism, a sociological survey of potential consumers, the selection of locations, and geographic information mapping using the FlexGIS platform. As a result, a five-day itinerary was developed, covering 15 key locations in the Brest, Minsk, and Grodno regions, associated with films such as Brest Fortress, Hipsters, The Black Castle of Olshany, and others. An interactive web-map "Belarusian Film Locations" has been created and is available in the open Internet space to promote film tourism and draw attention to the country's cultural heritage.
